v Children learn the following words and phrases: clap your hands, slowly, quickly, rub your hands, roll your hands, shake your heads etc.

v For learning colours and body parts (you can cut out the circles from colourful paper and place them on the floor)
    Pick up! Put down, stand up, turn round,
                 Clap left, clap right, clap down,
        Look left, look right, clap up, clap down,
        Turn round, sit down and touch something … brown!
        Point to the ceiling, point to the floor
        Look at the window, look at the door
        Stand on your left leg, stand on your right
        Now sit down, touch something … white! 
        Put your hands and touch your toes
        Cross your finger, hold your nose.
        Bend your knees and shake your head,
        Stamp your feet, touch something … red

The Mama called the doctor and the doctor said,
(Pretend to use telephone)
“No more monkeys jumping on the bed.”
(Wag fi nger)
(Repeat until no monkeys)


Fingerplays:

1.   The Itsy Bitsy Spider
The itsy bitsy spider climbed up the water spout.
(Opposite thumbs and pointer fi nger climb up)
Down came the rain and washed the spider out.
(Flutter fi ngers downward. Hands sweep down)
Out came the sun and dried up all the rain
(Arms form circle overhead, then sweep upward)
And the itsy bitsy spider climbed up the spout again.
(Opposite thumbs and pointer fi nger climb up)

2. Five Fat Peas

Five fat peas in a pea pod pressed.
(Hold fi st up)
One grew, two grew, and so did all the rest.
(Bring up each fi nger like counting)
They grew and they grew and they never stopped.
(Raise arm higher and higher in the air)
They grew so big that the pea pod POPPED.
(Clap hands once)
